Giorgio Armani Designer Clothing

On July 24, 1975 in Milan, the Giorgio Armani designer clothing line was born to designers Sergio Galeotti and Giorgio Armani. Later on that year Giorgio Armani introduced their first collection. During that first year of operation, Armani grew so rapidly that they were able to invest in new headquarters, showrooms and press-offices.

Five years into the business, Armani had accomplished more than most designers had. By the end of the 1970’s the designer clothing line had stores in the United States. By this time several new lines including Le Collezioni, Armani Junior, Mani, Giorgio Armani accessories. An underwear and swimwear had been launched by this time too. By the 1980’s Armani had expanded into perfume and had launched Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans. The growth did not stop there, Emporio Armani then launched their first store and then came the Giorgio Armani boutique.

Soon after they opened a store in Japan they allowed launched their eyewear collection.

Giorgio Armani launched their new Accessories division in 1999 and started their first website in the United States selling their designer clothing and accessories.

By the time the designer clothing label was 25-years-old, the company continued to grow leaps and bounds by acquiring the production and distribution facilities of the Armani Collezioni and Mani men's lines. The company also launched its global website. They continued to grow when they established a joint venture with Zegna Group for the manufacture and distribution of the Armani Collezioni men's line. Then they announced the launch of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics, Armani Casa, and the designer line’s new Armani multi-brand worldwide flagship at Milan's Via Manzoni 31.

In 2001 their accessories store has opened. In 2002 they began selling Emporio Armani watches online and by the end of 2002 Giorgio Armani had opened 30 new stores. In 2003 another store was opened in Germany and by 2005 agreements were signed and set into place for at least seven luxury hotels and three vacation resorts by 2015. In 2007 the world’s first Armani Residences opened in Burj Dubai. Also new to the Armani family, Crema Nera, their skincare line was born in 2007 as well as Skin Minerals their skincare line for men. Also in 2007 in Tokyo, Armani’s fourth concept store at Armani: Ginza Tower, which includes the first Armani Spa.

As if designer clothing, accessories, skincare, fragrances, and spas were not enough, Armani expanded into electronics when they signed contracts with Samsung and developed the Armani/Samsung Television and the Armani/Samsung mobile ‘Night Effect’.

This year is to mark the opening of the Armani Hotel in Milan.
